The story of the film unfolds in one night. A chance meeting of a young boy and an old woman on Christmas night. The 22-year-old Antal is a member of the hated political police. In October of 1956, during the revolution in Budapest, he escapes the wrath of the people by fleeing to the countryside house of his aunt, a Holocaust survivor. Aunt Sára tries her best to mother him and divert the attention of battered Antal with an old favorite song. When the Soviets launch an attack against Hungary on November 4, Antal is determined to join them in order to get his revenge. But Aunt Sára’s song keeps ringing in his ears, no matter how hard he tries to push it away. He has an unbearable earworm. When the time finally comes for vengeance, his earworm gets the better of him. The song becomes a macabre dance of death...

Liza is waiting in vain, as Gabor will be not coming home that night. The next day Liza tells him the big news, but Gabor doesn’t react the way as she expected. It could be a turning point in their relationship, and maybe it is.

In 1849, the liberation war against the Habsburg Empire is close to its end in Hungary. Having hidden from military draft, Barnabás leaves his hometown and walks across the country to find and save his wounded brother who has been hiding with a guerilla group deep in the forest. Despite their exhaustion, lack of food or information, they are still fighting for their cause. Barnabás finds his brother alienated and distrustful. The tension between the boys further increases when they turn out to be attracted to the same nurse in the camp. Hoping he can earn his brother's trust and take him home, Barnabás decides to stay and lie about his past. In the meantime, he has to face the cruelty of war.

Alpar has his first day of work at the border between Hungary and Serbia. Stationed there to save his country from refugees, he is confronted with the reality of being a border guard and is forced to adapt to the merciless customs.

Misi (16) and Áron (18) are half brothers, who are raised by their mother, but they could not be more different. Both boys are good at fencing, and when Misi joins the same fencing team as his older brother, and quickly turns out to be even more talented, Áron's repressed jealousy starts to resurface.

The film tells the story of Dávid, an eighteen-year-old negligent teen. After eight years of being apart, Dávid and his mother move back from Vojvodina to Hungary to live with Dávid’s father. We slowly discover Dávid’s secret operation: he illegally transports refugees across the border for money, in order to fund his move abroad.
