Bellator 236 took place Dec. 21 at Neal S. Blaisdell Center. Macfarlane and Jackson met in the flyweight championship main event.

Bellator 226: Bader vs. Kongo was a mixed martial arts event that took place on September 8th, 2019 at SAP Center in San Jose, California. The event took place on Paramount Network and DAZN.

Bellator Birmingham: Primus vs. Wilde took place on May 4, 2019 at Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England. This is the second event in the Bellator European series. The event featured a lightweight bout between former champion Brent Primus and Tim Wilde.

Bellator 194: Mitrione vs. Nelson 2 took place on February 16, 2018 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The event aired live in prime time on Paramount Network. This card featured the second bout in the 2018 Bellator Heavyweight World Grand Prix Tournament. Matt Mitrione and Roy Nelson previously fought under the UFC banner in December 2012 with Nelson winning by TKO in the first round.

The main event will feature Brandon Girtz against Derek Campos in a rubber match. Campos won the pair's initial meeting in June 2013 at Bellator 96 by unanimous decision. Girtz avenged the loss in November 2015 at Bellator 146, where he won by knockout in the first round.

Ortiz vs. Sonnen took place on January 21, 2017 at the The Forum in Inglewood, California. The event aired live in prime time on Spike TV. On October 18, 2016, it was announced that former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz and UFC veteran Chael Sonnen would headline this event. Sonnen owns career wins over the likes of Yushin Okami, Nate Marquardt, Brian Stann, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Maurício Rua and the current UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping. Ortiz is a UFC Hall of Famer and one of the most decorated champions in UFC history. "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" signed with Bellator in 2013 and has gone 2-1 with the promotion. He has wins over the likes of Alexander Shlemenko, Stephan Bonnar, Wanderlei Silva, Ken Shamrock and Forrest Griffin. A women's bout between Rebecca Ruth and Colleen Schneider was initially announced for this card. However, the bout never came to fruition for undisclosed reasons and Ruth was replaced by Chrissie Daniels

Bellator 138: Unfinished Business took place on June 19, 2015 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. The event was headlined by a heavyweight bout between combat sports veterans Kimbo Slice and Ken Shamrock. Bellator 138 (Kimbo vs Shamrock) was the highest rated Bellator event ever. It did an average of 1.6 million viewers for the whole event and a peak of 2.4 million during the Kimbo vs Shamrock fight. And a DVR peak of 2.9 million. The previous high was Bellator 131 (Tito vs Bonnar) Which did 1.2 million average for the entire event and a peak of 2 million during the Tito vs Bonnar fight. And a DVR peak of 2.2 million

Bellator XCVI took place on June 19, 2013 at the Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma. The event was distributed live in prime time by Spike TV. It marked the season debut of the 2013 summer series. Bellator 96 featured the opening round of the 2013 Summer Series Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight tournaments. This event served as the lead in for the debut of Bellator's new reality TV series, Fight Master: Bellator MMA.

New Orleans, La. – The Bellator 70 weigh-ins have been completed from New Orleans, Louisiana in preparation for Bellator’s Friday night event at Harrah’s New Orleans, which features the Bellator Heavyweight Title Fight between Champion Cole Konrad and Eric Prindle. Also, a highly-anticipated Bellator Season 6 Bantamweight Tournament Semifinal fight will take place as Luis Nogueira will square off against Hiroshi Nakamura while Rich Clementi will meet Derek Campos in a lightweight contest. Additionally, the Bellator Season 6 Lightweight Tournament will be decided as Rick Hawn takes on Brent Weedman. Both men showed the other vast amounts of respect ahead of their fight on Friday night. “I’m looking forward to fireworks,” said Weedman. “This is the toughest opponent I’ve had in my career. We’re going to put on a show for the fans in New Orleans.”
