Dark fairytale about a demonic doctor who abducts a beautiful opera singer with designs on transforming her into a mechanical nightingale.

During the years following World War II, a new boy arrives to class 7/c, and the audience learns to know the lives of the drunkard teacher, his husband-cheating wife, the lonely music teacher hiding behind her paper flowers, the wise count deprived of all his properties, the jovial parish priest and especially the buffalo owner of tragic fate who lost his four daughters, alongside with the young protagonist.

The scene of the story taking place in the 18th century is an inn, which is advertised by its owners for sale. The inn was namely the scene for mysterious disappearances and murders, but the result of all these events, the treasury is hidden and guarded by the mother. Everybody want to get it from her during one night: the inn-keeper couple, the fake couple who arrived as buyers, Colonel Majorossy with his son, the secret agent and the servants.

After a tax inspection Sándor Radó, manager of a cartographic institute in Geneva called Geopress suddenly finds himself at the police station, where they withdraw his residence permit. This pestering makes him nervous, because cartography actually covers for a much more important activity: he is the head of the Soviet intelligence group in Switzerland.

A ghost is haunting Lubló: Kaszparek Mihály, trader of wines, does not refrain from haunting his native town even in broad daylight. He rides his horse sitting backwards, pays with false gold and pays frequent visits to his widowed wife, who is far from being appalled by the caresses of her dead husband.

While awaiting his release from the Soviet detention camp he is being held in, a half-starved refugee (Andras Ambrus) finds that an error has been made and his name is not on the to-be-released list. It is then that he is forced to assume the identity of a dead man whose name is on the list. Ambrus at first refuses, but because he was an orphan and cannot produce evidence of his true identity, he has no other choice. However, when he returns to the outer world and the community he was raised in, he is greeted with suspicion. When he tries to claim his part-ownership of a farm from his adopted uncle, he is refused and beaten by farmhands the uncle sets on him.

Baradla Géza, war criminal, returns after 25 years, with his ex-accomplice, Obrád Simon, to the village where he burned houses with people inside and executed partisans. The ex squad-leader is chased to this place by his "heroic deed" and the memory of his love. Like a maniac, he wants to forgive the village residents for having killed six of his soldiers.

The film take place in Budapest, in the end of The World War II, telling the story of a young Communist who escaped from prison. The boy tries to revitalise his contact with the movement, but he is told to be quiet and wait.

At the beginning of the thirties the sour, boring life of the Hungarian small town is enlivened by a charity action: with the lead of the beautiful wife of the attorney funds are raised for the orphans.

Instead of attending a boring reception of the imperial deputies and papal legates, he pays his address to three pretty women from Szelistye.

Каждому больному он рекомендует заниматься в клинике тем делом, которое ему близко, которое составляет частицу его жизни. Так, молодой ученый Давид возобновляет по совету доктора Аради исследования в области народной музыки. В клинике находится молодая женщина из Капошвара Лилла. Болезнь и неудачная семейная жизнь сближают Давида и Лиллу. В любви друг к другу они черпают новые силы для борьбы с болезнью. Лилла выздоравливает и покидает клинику. Давид остается, но его не оставляет надежда, что скоро и он сможет последовать за Лиллой.

О бесшабашной и озорной девушке, буквально притягивающей к себе всевозможные курьезные ситуации. Куда бы она не попала, все вокруг начинает искрить и переворачиваться с ног на голову. Оттого-то и герой ее романтических грез не сразу может разглядеть в бедовом сорванце прелестную юную женщину.

Три брата — сыновья вдовы Фазекашне — совершенно не похожи друг на друга. Старший Фери работает на заводе и старается всем помочь матери. Младший по прозвищу Синица мечтает стать художником, а пока поступил учеником на завод и очень гордится этим. Юмбо не любит трудиться — его цель легко жить и получать побольше денег, а каким способом, для него не важно. Пользуясь влиянием на Синицу, Юмбо втягивает его в свои тёмные дела, привлекает к ограблению кассы. Трудная борьба происходит в душе паренька, но побеждает доброе начало.
