Putih is an adaptation of the Malay classic folklore Bawang Putih Bawang Merah. Putih can be considered the Malay folklore version of Cinderella, where good and evil collides. It tells the story of a pretty, smart and kindhearted young woman who manages to escape her evil stepmother and stepsister and marry her Prince Charming. Her wisdom and conscience also makes her a role model as a woman, daughter and wife.

Maria is rushed to the hospital and is saved by Dr. Faris who successfully extracts the bullet from her body. Maria is assigned to the Special Unit of the Royal Malaysian Police force. She falls in love with Dr. Faris. Her unit has been directed to smash a syndicate which is trafficking ecstasy pills and drugs in the city. Meanwhile, Mariana is visited by Remy, a colleague who is attracted to her. Roy, her ex-boyfriend reappears causing turmoil in her life and Mariana reverts to her old wild ways. The relationship between the two sisters, Maria and Mariana becomes strained again.

Maria and Mariana are sisters but they are poles apart. Mariana is wild while her elder sister is moderate and take great interest in her education and career. When they become adults, Maria joins the police force while Mariana remains the same. However, Jefri’s presence changes Mariana’s life. But her disappointment, Jefri chooses to marry Maria instead of her. Tony and Robert, leaders of criminals gang which Maria is trying to smash, kidnap Mariana. The ever responsible Maria risks her own life to save her sister.

Azman (Mustapha Kamal), the brother of Wati (Erra Fazira) has been tried and sentenced to two years in prison for setting fire to Awie's (Awie) house. Meanwhile, Wati has completed her studies and taken over the company of her late father to replace her brother who is still in prison. Awie and Wati's relationship is going well and they are planning to get engaged. But the deck due to their busy schedule makes the engagement delayed and Ziana (Ziana Zain) who is still obsessed with Awie continues her cunning plan to seduce Awie to fall into his trap again.

Desa loves his mother and the piece of land which has mortgaged by his late father when he was involved in local politics. To Desa, life is meaning less if he cannot even prevent the land from falling into the hands of someone else. He needs money to redeem the land. His friend, Lazim suggests that he should go to Kuala Lumpur where he can earn some money with his singing talent. Desa fails to adapt to city life and returns to the village.

Hisham is under a lot of stress due to heavy workload and dissapointment with his girlfriend, Azura. Faridah, an illegal immigrant who works as a shop assistant, witnesses a robbery and is wanted by the robbers. She hides in Hisham’s car and is brought back to his village without Hisham’s knowledge. They become close. Azura unexpectedly visits Hisham and feels jealous seeing Hisham and Faridah together. Then, Azura goes missing. Hisham panics and starts to search for her. He receives a note demanding an exchange for Faridah with Azura.

Bani, a university graduate has been injured in a motorcycle racing illegal. While at the hospital the doctor has found he is suffering from lung cancer, which is quite serious. Parents and doctors want to keep the disease from Bani but coincidentally he had heard. Bani were told to rest in Cameron Highlands, and while there he was treated by Dr. Ariffin.

While repairing one of his customer’s car, Syamil finds RM500,000 and tries to keep the cash. Meanwhile the police are investigating a bank robbery that involves the same amount of money. Syamil’s mother advises him to return the money to the police but he refuses. He begins to worry when he sees a press article about the robbery...

A young teacher, Azmi is offered teaching post at a girl's school. The reaction from the students is quite hilarious as tis is the first time a male teacher has been posted to the school. Just before reporting for duty, he stumbles upon a baby which has been abandoned at a clinic. He takes the baby with him and the presence of the baby amuses the students and others teachers. However, one teacher, Bedah, dislikes Azmi and tries everything she can to get rid of him. Azmi get the help of another teacher, Sharina and some students to baby-sit. Azmi’s freindship with Sharina is miscountrued and malicious gossips begin to spread that the baby is actually their love child. At the same time, a jilted student tries to commit suicide.
