Agni, a single mother (played by Rituparna Sengupta), is posted as a government official in the town who soon gets embroiled in a controversy that makes her come face to face with Dev. What happens next forms the crux of the story.

In the film a teacher witnesses the murder of his favourite student who was killed by someone who is not only a student of the teacher but also the boyfriend of his own daughter. Through this killing, we will see the student politics scenario of West Bengal taking a roller coaster ride. The film’s backdrop is quite similar to Tapan Sinha’s 1986 film Atanka.
