Kaustuv Ray

Shankar Mudi (শংকর মুদি) is a Bengali Political drama film directed by Aniket Chattopadhyay and produced by Kaustuv Ray.[1] This film was released on 15 March 2019 under the banner of RP Techvision India Private Limited. Bengali Actor-Director Shri Kaushik Ganguly plays the Titular role[2][3] and music direction of the film was made by Kabir Suman.[4]

Setarer Sur revolves around five friends -Sunil, Brajesh, Ranjan, Suhash and Avijit -who are all attracted to their common friend, Basobi. Basobi seems to be close to Ranjan. Then, she suddenly declares she will marry Brajesh, as she has always been in love with him. Just days before the wedding, Basobi is found dead at home and renowned detective Kiriti is approached to solve the case.

The story revolves around a retired judge, Mr. Sen, living in a farmhouse on the outskirts of the city. The people who stay in the colony are a handful of social outcasts. One day, the judge is found dead under mysterious circumstances, and Byomkesh takes up the case.

The story of a mysterious hotel room and how the lives of those who stay there change - for better or for worse.

Arko was a cricketer. He was an outstanding bowler and had also played for Bengal Cricket Team. Unfortunately, a torn ligament and a blotched-up operation put an end to his budding career. Frustration and depression continuously bogged him down and he tried his best to seek an alternate career. One early morning, while dropping his son to school, an accident occurs. A private bus could not apply the brakes on time at a road crossing and runs over little his son. Arko is flung aside. He survives but his son does not. Arko's life is shattered.The driver of the private bus, is arrested and the bus is seized. The Insurance Company enters the scene. Investigations begin. Who was really at fault? Why did the bus not brake on time? Was it a mechanical fault? Was the bus driver only a scape-goat? As the investigations deepen, many unpleasant realities come to the fore and Arko together with Kartick, the driver, and the Insurance agent, decide to take matters in their own hands.

Based on 'Aadim Ripu', it is the first installment of a Byomkesh film trilogy directed by Anjan Dutt. Bomkesh Bakshi is a fictional detective character, created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay, a renowned author in Bengali literature. The story is based on the backdrop of pre-Independence period and post-World War II.
