Poor Bastards is a sketch film, written by twelve authors. Mirror or projection, poor bastards have fun with everyday facts and do not tell a story, but stories. Through these short and bitter stories, are revealed all the cracks of the human race, which, in a movement of globalization and neoliberalism more and more assertive, can lead the ordinary man to be a monster of cowardice, cruelty, indifference or hypocrisy. Poor bastards from an odd angle, transcribe reality provocatively or not, always with the same ambition: to react.

В 1999 году в небольшом рабочем городке Валансьен на северо-востоке Франции произошла трагедия, разделившая жизни двух братьев: авария на угольной шахте, унесшая жизни 15 шахтеров, среди которых был и их отец. Один из братьев стал полицейским, другой - сотрудником жандармерии. 15 лет спустя после трагедии они вынуждены будут сотрудничать в деле раскрытия недавнего убийства одного из их друзей, также сына шахтера, единственного выжившего во время аварии...

A child from Senegal is adopted by a French family in the Bretagne soon learns that she is not the only child.

Max, a teenager, is having a difficult time coming of age. At 16, he is constantly in conflict with his parents. Antoine a Union representative works in a financially troubled factory. He's not the sharpest tool in the box but he has a big heart and when he and his wife win the jackpot of the national lottery. Antoine will invest his gain to try and safe the factory.
