Действие этой ностальгической картины происходит в итальянской провинции в 30-х годах XX века во времена фашистской диктатуры Муссолини. Гормоны бурлят в юных телах подростков. Семья, церковь и дружба — незыблемые основы быта и жизни горожан. На улицах развешаны гигантские портреты великого «дуче». Секс царит на каждом углу. И жизнь, которую демонстрируют в местном кинотеатре, принимается за эталон реальной жизни.
