Toyotomi Hideyoshi
During the Age Of Wars (Sengoku Era), Tokugawa Ieyasu and Toyotomi Hideyoshi are vying for power and each uses their secret weapons in order to try and defeat the other. Momochi Sandayu of the Iga, along with his disciple Ishikawa Goemon are ordered by Ieyasu to assassinate Hideyoshi and get the blueprints for the hidden fortress within Osaka Castle. Meanwhile the Koga group organizes to try and defend the castle for the peace of the nation. Beating off every trick from Sandayu, Torawakamaru protects the drawing, and when Ieyasu figures out a way to hold a match between Koga and Iga the two masters fight the greatest ninja battle ever held. The effects are truly spectacular in this classic ninja film from Toei.
Toyama Kinshiro, a commissioner from northern Edo, goes undercover to unravel the mystery behind a series of murders. Kinshiro, played by Kataoka Chiezo, is most famous for the cherry blossom tattoos on his shoulder which he reveals at the moment of judgement.

With an all-star cast, this is an important story with relevance to current times. One of Ichikawa Utaemon's finest performances, a true classic!

Due to less ships, sailors have to retire and are also disappointed. The laboratory's manager and an admiral are visiting a patient at a hospital and meet coincidentally. The former has a daughter who worries about her father's workload. She asks him to accompany her to a concert. Father has little time, but is convinced for her sake. He is inspired for a ship's design at the performance. The film is inspired by the life of Jo Hiraga.

Ловкий и благородный вор Дзирокити по прозвищу «Мышонок» грабит только богачей и потому пользуется популярностью среди простых горожан Эдо. Но власти не дремлют, и, спасаясь от угрозы ареста, Дзирокити на время отправляется в Киото, а оттуда в Осаку. На корабле он сближается с Осэн, красоткой лёгкого поведения. Её брат Никити торгует своей сестрой и ничем не брезгует ради денег. Дзирокити становится известно, что Никити задумал продать в наложницы важному полицейскому чиновнику прелестную девушку Окино, дочь обнищавшего самурая. Плененный красотой Окино Дзирокити узнает, что несчастья девушки и ее семьи вызваны тем, что когда-то он ограбил ее отца. The Japanese equivalent of penny dreadfuls glorifying Jesse James, A Diary of Chuji’s Travels gives a unique gloss to the tale of Chuji Kunisada, the legendary bakuto (or gambler, the precursors to modern-day yakuza). One of the two remaining segments of Ito’s original four-hour trilogy, it depicts Chuji’s attempt to save the geisha Oshina, a rebellion against the rigid social structure of Edo Japan. With socialist overtones, it’s a passionate artifact of early Japanese film.

A Diary of Chuji's Travels is a silent Japanese jidaigeki made in 1927 starring Denjirō Ōkōchi and directed by Daisuke Itō. It was originally released in three parts, all of which were long thought to be lost until portions of the second part and much of the third part were discovered and restored in 1991. Since the film had once been voted in a 1959 Kinema Junpō poll as the best Japanese film of all time, its discovery was significant. At the time of its release, Itō was the leader of a new style of samurai films that featured outlaw heroes and fast-cut sword fighting scenes.

Этот фильм, или, вернее, единственный сохранившийся ролик этого фильма о боях на мечах 1926 года, похож на финальную галлюцинирующую сцену из шекспировской трагедии. Одинокий самурай сражается с сотней других. За двенадцать минут фильма кадрирование, ритм, современность и напряжённость монтажа захватывают дух. Чередование общих планов и внезапных крупных планов с лицом самурая (необычайная выразительная подвижность актера Дэндзиро Окоти) добавляет театральности мизансцене. «Давняя обида» напоминает трагический сюрреалистический балет, раскачивающийся ритуал, разворачивающийся под неподвижностью деревьев, пьянящую хореографию, как предсмертный хрип, слышимый в синеве ночи, танец смерти, иначе говоря, танец с мечами.
