Vazquez, 60, owns a small French publishing house. His mother, a Spanish refugee, raised him in the memory of a father, hero of the resistance under Franquism. His daughter Lauriane, 30, has a complicated love life, but still lives with her father.

As the mother of a 16-year-old girl, Anne Joubert is happy in her job and in her marriage. But when she learns that her daughter is using drugs, everything she took for granted suddenly collapses. She is forced to begin a major overhaul of her life.

An aircraft mechanic takes part in a ruby theft for debt repaying to keep his small factory, but his glide goes wrong on its way home and falls down in a zoo. Little girl Chloe finds him in mistake for an angel. He wants to find the ruby and keeps the children safe from harm, so he pretends to be an angel and lives with Chloe for days. They catch the criminals and return the ruby to police. The mechanic cures Chloe's friend with his own blood, and falls in love with her mother ultimately.

Lucien Hastier, known as "Lulu", is a locksmith in La Courneuve and a communist activist. He had never known his parents and had been raised by the public assistance, a notary comes to announce that his father died and left him an extraordinary inheritance: a castle, a title of duke and a royal filiation. But problems arise, the deceased duke has left heavy debts and suitors to the title.
