An American filmmaker arrives in the Argentinian pampa to film Matadero: a founding narrative of class struggle where a group of laborers slaughter their bosses like cattle. It is 1974, the violent persecution of the left has just begun in Argentina, and the young actors in the film are on the verge of taking a leap into full time clandestine militancy.

It’s the first day of shooting a low-budget independent film. Juan, the director, tries to shoot a sex scene with Malena and Julián, two inexperienced young actors. But he also secretly keeps the camera running in between takes, in an attempt to capture brief moments of intimacy. Hours go by and the scene doesn’t seem to come out right. Weariness, repetition, and communication problems pile up as Juan tries to convince the actress to show more of her body. Violence will emerge as the shooting crumbles.

In 2001, far from the space ships, Argentina suffers a social and economic crisis that rages the fury in the streets. Looting, violence and terror are part of the everyday landscape. Fear overflows the atmosphere and families are breaking down in a rarefied climate.

Claudia is 17 years old. She is forced to go live with her father, Marcelo, after 15 years of being away. Over a summer trip, the past plays a fundamental role in understanding and reconciling with the present.

A butterfly, a creature symbolising rebirth and a new beginning, epitomises Romina’s and Germán’s world, a world that consists of two parallel realities. In one of them they grow up as siblings who desire each other and try to give shape to their love without sexual fulfilment; in the other they are a young man and woman who form an awkward friendship instead of succumbing to their feelings for each other. Germán finds himself in a discordant relationship with Mariela. Mariela’s brother is interested in Bruno. Bruno is with Romina, but wants to be with Germán. Playfully alternating between these two realities, the lovers find themselves drawn into ever new couplings in order to explore their intuitive feelings – cautiously, but at the same time prepared to lose everything.

The teenager, without any vocation of Lolita, opens a dangerous door to situations that could be beyond his stature, his life is crossed with that of a man of 35 years, Javi professional athlete who faces the crisis of his retirement from the courts of volleyball.

Three teenage boys love soccer, are troublemakers, and always lie to their teachers and miss class. They are always up to no good. And they aren't alone. Their families are surrounded by restlessness. It almost seems like a so-so movie about teens from Argentina. But when one of the boys steals a gun from another boy's house, things start to take a different turn. There is an accident, and the boy disappears. Where did he go? Sometime later, the two boys and the missing boy's sister head off to an unknown location. With the accident as the starting point, the film turns into a little odyssey within the heart of Buenos Aires.
