Daniel is a writer/director and a prop master by trade. Starting with the music video boom of the late 90's, he has since moved onto Independent feature films working on Sundance films: Crown Heights, The Forty Year Old Version, A Thousand And One and Oscar nominated, The Farewell. He's also worked closely with such talents as Ben Stiller, Sean Penn and Cynthia Nixon.
Writer /Director : As featured in the New York Times, Remezcla, The Face and on NBC News, Daniel is a multi award winning filmmaker, who's found early success in the several genres he's crossed. During his formative years he wrote/produced and directed several diversified short films including "Buttercup", which toured German movie theaters as part of the "Blue Hearts of N.Y." traveling festival of short films (Mop Distribution) Since then, Daniel's shorts have earned recognition at festivals & exhibitions both in the U.S. & internationally. He completed the festival circuit in 2011 showcasing LALO (featuring Billy Magnussen), which garnered the award for Best Short Film at the HBO/NY Latino International Film Festival. As a Creative Capital- On The Radar Artist, Daniel also continues to showcase his experimental works in galleries & museums. His work with composer Mike Vernusky was featured at Rome's Maxxi Museum BNL. He also completed his first narrative feature, H.O.M.E. starring Imagen winner Jeremy Ray Valdez, Broadway's Angela Lin and Mexican Ariel winner, Jesús Ochoa. Produced by Darren Dean (Tangerine/The Florida Project), the film premiered at the Museum Of Moving Image in NYC and has gone on to screen at the American Cinematheque , Austin's Violet Crown Cinemas and over 25 international festivals with nominations from Cinema Tropical to several awards for Best Feature & Best Director.
