Petr is a courier, a messenger as a matter of fact. He is one of those young men who believe that on their bikes they have become part and parcel of the atmosphere of modern cities. He is a non-conformist who refuses to settle into today‘s deformed society, he abhors its indolence, consumerism and lies, as well as its pseudo-truths, pseudo-feelings, pseudo-loves and pseudo-values. Petr’s untrammelled personality keeps causing more and more serious problems. And Petr is also one of those who will never admit to themselves that they might be at the end of their tether.

Komedie O rodičích a dětech chce navázat na nejlepší tradice české filmové komedie. Vtipné dialogy, výjimečné herecké výkony a humor spojující diváky napříč generacemi. Příběh filmu vychází ze zdánlivě banální situace. Syn (David Novotný) jde na procházku se svým otcem (Josef Somr)... Syn je zralý čtyřicátník a žije spokojeně se svou přítelkyní. Otci je přes sedmdesát. Je bývalý vědec-biolog. Klasický intelektuál v dobrém slova smyslu. Zdánlivě jediné, co tyto dva muže spojuje, je to, že se jdou jednou za měsíc společně projít Prahou. Nicméně jsou svázáni poutem čtyřiceti let společného života. V brilantně vedeném dialogu se před námi odkrývají dějiny dvacátého století a všechny absurdity s ním spojené. Odhalují se ta nejhlubší místa lidských vztahů. Odtajňují se staré resty, trápení a radosti. Na scéně se objeví Vnuk, o kterém Syn neměl přes dvacet let ani tušení. A některé chyby se opakují znovu a znovu.

В деревню приезжает Иван Секал, который жил здесь когда-то. Незаконнорожденный сын, он был брошен своим отцом отца и в течение многих лет был изгоем и терпел издевтельства жителей, которые называли его «сволочью». В 1930-е годы он воевал в гражданской войне в Испании на стороне революционеров, поддерживаемых в частности III Рейхом. Теперь, служа нацистским оккупантам, и с их помощью Секал рассчитывает отомстить за годы унижений. Используя своё положение, он по очереди начинает отбирать земли у тех, кто его унижал, а в случае сопротивления отдаёт их немцам на смерть. Испуганные жители составляют план убийства Секала, чтобы, наконец, избавиться от него. В качестве орудия мести они выбирают скрывающегося от гестапо кузнеца Юрия Барана.

The film provided Czech comedian Jirí Lábus with a new kind of role: that of the despotic uncle of a main hero Karel Rossman (Martin Dejdar).

In this suspense story, the main character, Johann Neudorff (Gotz George), immigrated to Argentina from Germany after World War Two, and has become a successful businessman there. He is unconcerned with the nature of the government there, which at the time of this film (1978) is a military dictatorship. His comfortable existence is disrupted when he discovers that his beloved daughter Laura (Emilia Mazer) has become the lover of a political activist (Miguel Angel Sola) who is on the military's hit list. When his daughter is kidnapped, Johann attempts to use his government connections to free both her and her lover. However, his son Alfredo (Alex Benn) undermines his efforts, and Johann himself is incarcerated in a military prison, but not before he discovers that his daughter and her lover are both dead, killed by the regime.
