The setting is the staffroom of an English language college for foreign students somewhere in Cambridge. I think that Edward Fox was born to play the role of protagonist St. John Quartermaine. St. John (pronounced 'sinjun') is a kind and lonely language professor who is becoming increasingly absent-minded and forgetful, probably due to some form of creeping dementia. Having loyally served at the college since its founding, his life revolves around work as he appears to have no social life of his own. He is well liked by his colleagues, however they take advantage of his good nature and are always too preoccupied with their own concerns to really notice what we the viewers see- a man gradually and inexorably heading towards crisis, in desperate need of care and support.

До королевской картинной галереи Энтони Блант работал в британской контрразведке. Фильм показывает период перед его разоблачением. Скандал замяли, и лишь спустя 7 лет после разоблачения, 15.11.1972, Маргарет Тэтчер, ставшая премьер-министром, выступила в палате общин с сообщением о том, кем на самом деле был сэр Энтони Блант. А ещё через несколько дней его лишили должности, всех академических титулов и рыцарского звания. Он умер в одиночестве 26.03.1983.

Having subdued the Goths, warrior Titus Andronicus returns to Rome to bury his sons, with Gothic Queen Tamora and her retinue as captives. The newly-dead Roman Emperor's two sons, Saturninus and Bassianus, are competing for their father's title. According to Roman custom, Titus sacrifices Tamora's eldest son to the Gods; having the deciding vote, he also chooses Saturninus as Emperor. Both acts have tragic consequences.
