14-летняя Сидни вместе с родителями переезжает из Бруклина в Бридж-Холлоу — самый безопасный городок Соединённых Штатов, удерживающий это звание на протяжении 10 лет. Когда Сидни находит на чердаке старинный фонарь и зажигает его, то выпускает на волю злобный доух Скупого Джека, который начинает оживлять хэллоуинские украшения. Теперь девочке придётся объединить усилия с папашей-скептиком и выяснить, как избавить городок от проклятья, попутно отбиваясь от зомби, гигантских пауков и клоунов с топорами.
