After the plane lands, Mr. Tau disappears. The third security inspector Málek is determined to catch the hooligan at any price. To achieve this, he gives up his holiday to visit the children's summer camp. Mr. Málek's son, who just like all the other children is delighted by the new camp cook, Mr. Tau himself, has unknowingly set the inspector on the magician's trail. But the children at the camp are determined not to let their beloved magician get caught and ingeniously place all sorts of traps in Inspector Málek's way.

A robbery in a Prague jeweler's shop results in the shop manager Kubát and his deputy Litera being shot and wounded. The culprits take the jewelery away in a stolen car and that very night hide the loot tens of kilometers outside Prague in a forest. Then the three robbers part with each other. One of them, Burian, leaves in the same car, the other two, Duda and Hovorka, take to flight in another car, which soon ends up in a car crash. Hovorka dies in the accident, but Duda survives and hides in an abandoned cottage. Burian is arrested, Duda is traced out by a police dog. Duda confesses to the robbery to the criminologist Málek, but refuses to say where is the jewelery. The robber then begins to shoot and Málek kills him in self-defense. The court fails to prove Litera's involvement in the robbery and the only one convicted is Burian. The disappointed Málek leaves the police and begins to work as a cab driver.

Инициативный председатель месткома Ржехак из мебельного кооператива MARS безрассудно обещает перед заместителем министра, что он позаботится о том, чтобы в компании сформировался музыкальный коллектив из тридцати человек. Учительницу Веру в Хебе провожают на перроне ее ученики, она садится в проходящий поезд, который идет из Западной Германии в Прагу. Когда девушка в купе хочет привести себя в порядок и достает зеркало, то неловко роняет его на пол. Наклонившись, Вера видит в его отражении под сидением спрятанную коробку из-под сигарет, не обнаруженную таможней в ходе проверки. В коробке находится план Бротской плотины и инструкция по ее уничтожению. С этого момента начинаются злоключения и смертельно опасные "приключения". Один из первых триллеров о работе разведки и контрразведки сделанных в Чехословакии, рассказывающий о борьбе органов государственной безопасности с иностранной агентурой.

В основу сценария был положен сюжет Б.Кунца, описавшего реальный факт: интернирование чехословацкого самолета и группы чехословацких граждан властями американской зоны оккупации в Западной Германии. На основании рассказов очевидцев постановщикам удалось показать яркую картину нравов американской разведки. В этой схватке лицом к лицу выявились и благородные чувства патриотизма чехословацких граждан, добившихся возвращения на родину.

Based on the novel by Karel Capek, the prominent Czech writer of the early 20th century who coined the word robot for his play R.U.R., the story revolves around a discovery of Krakatit - a powerful explosive - by Prokop, an experimental scientist who, following an accidental explosion in his lab, slips in and out of delirium. When he realises that, in a delirious period, he has given the formula for making Krakatit to one of his colleagues, he tries to find the man, who does not realize how dangerous a thing Krakatit is. In the process, he nearly gives his discovery away again to foreign interests, a group of anarchists, and even greater forces of darkness...
