When an ocean-fascinated cowboy from the Brazilian backlands discovers that the farm where he has worked all his life will be sold, he abandons everything to, finally, get to know the sea. Guided by an old postcard sent by a long-lost love, he embarks on a quest that will redefine his life.

Lucidreide's home becomes a hell after the arrival of her mother-in-law, who evicted, decides to live there. Abandoned by her husband Dermirréi and unable to lead her home in front of her five children, she only has the desire to go away. Without understanding the size of a space voyage, Lucidreide accepts to participate in a mission that will take the first man to the Red Planet and is signed uo by the son of her bosses, Tavinho. He recalls that his father was selecting a person to integrate a training that would take a Brazilian to Mars. Believing that she is going to make her children happy, she leaves for training at Cape Canaveral in the United States.

In "The Impassive Muse", Adrine is of Armenian descent and has OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder). Edivaldo is from Pernambuco and suffers from immobilizing absence seizures which make him stand as still as a statue. Adrine is married to Adilson, a brutalized man who do not bear to be touched by the woman. Edivaldo wants to marry Gladis, unlikely aspirant to the fashion world. Adrine don't want to be noticed. Edivaldo need to 'be somedbody' to win back his bride. One morning, the lives of Edivaldo and Adrine cross because of ripe orange. Among historical monuments, sculptures, people of different backgrounds and dreams, Edivaldo and Adrine share a journey of recognition and acceptance without imagining that what they live, in fact is the oldest and necessary of the stories: a love story.

Based on Guimarães Rosa's (classic Brazilian author) short story, the movie tells the story of Augusto Matraga, a bankrupt and violent farmer who lives above the Law in Minas Gerais' hinterland. During a difficult time, he finds himself in the middle of a trap that nearly kills him. Born again, Matraga resorts to faith and hard work in the pursuit of redemption. Years later, he arrives at the village reigned by the hinterland's ruler and his thugs. This new friendship will challenge his destiny. Inside Matraga, the Saint and the Warrior will duel until his time comes.
