Erzählt wird die authentische Lebensgeschichte der Ursula Heye, Mutter von Uwe-Karsten Heye. Der Bogen reicht vom "Wegschauen" beim Nazi-Terror gegen die Juden Ende der 1930er Jahre über die Trennung und die erzwungene Scheidung von ihrem Mann Wolfgang, von dessen Desertion und Verschwinden bis hin zum - glücklosen - Wiedersehen in den 1950er Jahren.

В наши дни пропадает 13-летняя Синикка, ее велосипед брошен в том же месте, где было совершенно убийство Пии, что дает основание полиции предположить, что преступник вновь вышел на охоту. Детектив Дэвид и его коллега Жанна пытаются разгадать тайну этих преступлений при помощи Крисхана, следователя в отставке, занимавшегося первым делом. В то время как обезумевшие от горя родители Синикки живут в мучительном ожидании и страдают от неопределенности, судьба их дочери разрывает также сердце матери Пии. Драматическое настоящее заставляет всех героев картины «Тишина», причастных к этому делу, оглянуться в прошлое…

The movie deals with a guy who gets to join the German Bundeswehr involuntarily because a colleague loses his denial papers in order to get the chance to get down on his girlfriend. When entering the Bundeswehr he acts like a giant idiot and of course gets in one room with some of the biggest losers around. The loser turns out to be a hero and leads his loser-colleagues to win a contest with the local US army squad.

Mary and Marquard are painters and lovers, with a common life. Once Marquard gets a prize of a considerable sum of money, his artistic creativity wanes. While Mary works in a series of paintings, Marquard visits his friend Gregor, a horse breeder and philosopher, sleeps with Angie and visits repeatedly her daughter Lucia. Marquard and Lucia, who have begun a tender and compassionate father-daughter relationship, spend two days in a seaside hotel, deciding not to speak in words. The feelings and communication emerge from a very special way. Mary, who does not know the whereabouts and the reason of the absence of Marquard, realizes it by herself: their love is over. Then, she abruptly interrupts her work so far and starts a new painting entitled "The visible and invisible."
