У пятнадцатилетней Юли в автокатастрофе погибает мать. Опекунство поручают родной тете девочки — преуспевающему хирургу, но очень одинокой женщине Татьяне Смирновой. Юля винит Татьяну в смерти матери и поэтому между ними нарастает серьезный конфликт. Но тут в их жизни появляется Игорь Воронцов — отец Юли. Игорь в прошлом известный джазовый музыкант, а сейчас всего лишь трубач на похоронах.
