"A musical film of the totalitarian era" is the the second title of the film. The film is based on a legendary school film of Tomáš Vorel, called INg (1985).The story line stays the same - a young engineer finds a new job and wants to work, this proves to be impossible in the last days of the communist era.

In Vražda v hotelu Excelsior, the interwar period homicide detective squad from Prague investigates the murder of a wealthy woman, Mrs Matoušová, which threatens the reputation of the eponymous luxury hotel popular with Prague’s elite. Even the retired police inspector Mrázek (František Filipovský), who works at the Excelsior as a hotel detective, is unable to help at first. Although the investigation inevitably uncovers the hotel staff’s scheming, Vacátko and his team unerringly follow the trail that leads them to the murderer…

In a suburban villa, a woman of means is murdered. Police Superintendent Zdychynec from the Prague Liben neighborhood reports the case to Police Councilman Vacátko, upon whose order an investigation is launched immediately. Zdychynec begins to suspect the wooer of his own daughter, a handsome dragoon named Rudi, of the crime. In Rudi's absence, Zdychynec searches his rented room in the apartment of the elegant Mrs Dragicová. All his findings - among others, sand left on Rudi's jackboots and a decent amount of money in his bedside table - convince the superintendent that he is following the right lead, especially when Rudi refuses to say where he was at the time of the murder.

In the morning twilight of Prague, the dead body of the safe-breaker Toufar is found floating on the river Vltava with a knife in his back. Police inspectors visit Toufar's lover, the prostitute Anna Kulatá (Jirina Bohdalová), nicknamed Umbrella, and it is apparent that the moment before she opened the door of her flat, someone fled through the window. Umbrella is summoned for examination to the head of the criminal police - Police Councilman Vacátko Jaroslav Marvan, but although shocked by the photograph of the dead man, she does not confess to anything. Before Toufar, Umbrella lived with the safe-breaker Penicka (Radoslav Brzobohatý), who loved her very much and made her quit her street trade. But when he was sentenced to three years' imprisonment, Umbrella began to live with the brute Toufar, who chased her to street again. In the case of the murder, Penicka is therefore the prime suspect.

In the village cemetery, the funeral of a married couple - victims of a car crash - is ending. The relatives unscrupulously take away the facilities of the dead people's little cottage, totally ignorant of the fate of eight-year old Ruda, whom the childless couple took from a children's home and adopted. Fortunately, an elderly lonesome uncle named Tony remains in the empty cottage and decides to take care of the boy, nicknamed Münchie after Baron Münchhausen for his wild imagination.

A day in the life of Arnošt, a soldier staying in Josefov. A sense of desperation permeates the environment as well as the mind of the protagonist. It is sunday, and saturday left just a hangover. Days go by, nothing changes. A metaphor for the political situation in the Czech lands at a time where depicting a soldier as a drunk was considered out of place to say the least.

The kids were smoking secretly in a barn, set fire and fled. Feeling that the investigation closely, "sits on his tail" and soon will be declared to her parents, the protagonist escapes from home. The charred ruins of the barn, he meets a young man who is also why some carefully avoids meeting people, and tied him. According to the book Hoffmann Ota (Ota Hofman).

Советский пионер Юра встретился и подружился в Артеке с ровесницей из Чехословакии Зденой и при расставании обещал подарить ей медвежонка из Беловежской Пущи. Данное слово - надо выполнять и он с товарищами берётся за дело. О приключениях Юры и его друзей в белорусских лесных дебрях при поимке межвежонка Пущика рассказывается в фильме.

Героиня фильма Ганка - выпускница школы медицинских сестер. Она должна поехать работать в провинцию. Но как же быть, если в Праге живет ее любимый, молодой рабочий Ото? Их любовь взаимна. Но помимо радостей любви нужно еще иметь крышу над головой. Родители Ото не желают и слышать о его женитьбе. Если же Ото не женится на Ганке, то ее пошлют в провинцию. Оба они привыкли к пражской жизни: кафе, концерты, театры, приятели и приятельницы, как все это бросить? Но в конце фильма молодые люди убеждаются, что Прага - не единственное место, где можно быть счастливыми. Они уезжают работать в провинцию.

По одноименной книге Богумила Ржиги. Главный герой - пятилетний пражский мальчик по имени Гонзик, который впервые отправился в поездку без матери. Его посадили одного в поезд и отправили на деревню к дедушке. Там его ждут впечатления, обычные для сельских детей, но для городского мальчика они кажутся чудесными. Он знакомится с различными домашними животными, играет с деревенскими детьми, с которыми завязывает теплую дружбу. История проста и понятна. Целью авторов было научить детей не бояться разлуки с близкими и самостоятельности...

О мужественной борьбе чешских патриотов против немецких оккупантов. Героиня фильма Власта Рацек любит своего мужа, своих детей. Но, узнав, что муж оказался предателем, находит в себе мужество и силы порвать с ним. Власта вступает в ряды чешских патриотов, которые ведут подпольную борьбу.

Сатирическая комедия, сюжет которой разворачивается где-то около 1900 года. Жителей Петице волнует таинственная посылка, которая должна быть доставлена лучшему человеку этого маленького городка. Конечно, все члены городского совета претендуют на звание лучшего человека. В конце концов, оказывается, что это была хитро продуманная шутка, которая должна была раскрыть истинный характер "лучших людей" города.

Несмотря на протесты отца, Власта Томешова хочет стать трактористом. Однако перед своей первой пахотой она влюбляется и в то же время сталкивается с ловушками богатого фермера, который не хочет вступать в кооператив.
