It’s 2020. A virus has taken over the world. People are dying in masses. The economy has fallen (or so it seems). Unemployment remains a relevant and widely ignored problem. In this setting, an accident happens in the city of Lodz. They say a blue crystal fell from the sky and killed a homeless man. Miłosz and Tomek, two random guys, find the body and the rock.

Beksiński is a family man who wants only the best for his loving wife Zofia, neurotic son Tomasz and the couple's aging mothers. His daily painting to classical music eventually pays off and he makes a name for himself in contemporary art. Good Catholic woman Zofia tries to hold the family together, but troubled son Tomasz proves to be a handful with his violent outbursts and suicidal threats. Their relief is brief when he starts dating women and becomes a radio presenter and movie translator, and the concerned parents must be on constant watch to prevent their son from hurting himself. But Beksiński never believed that family life would always be sunshine and rainbows. As he tapes everything with his beloved camcorder, the 28-year Beksiński saga unfolds through paintings, near-death experiences, dance music trends and funerals...
A couple with two small children (Ludwik is fourteen and Hania is nine) travel from Lwow to a newly liberated Krakow. Ludwik attends a good school and quickly establish friendships. Before the 1946 June "3XTAK” referendum Stanislaw Mikolajczyk, leader of the PSL party, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Agriculture, came to Krakow. During his visit Ludwig was involved in a street brawl and consequently, was arrested. В небольшой польской деревне живут четверо старых друзей, служивших когда-то кавалеристами в Легионах Пилсудского. Живут себе, поживают, вспоминая дела минувших дней и давно пропитые награды за отвагу, полученные от самого Коменданта. Только самый старший из них, Якубек, бережно хранит свою — саблю. С ней он и просит друзей похоронить его и серьёзно готовится к переходу в мир иной.
Но Апостол Пётр не пускает героя трёх войн в Рай с саблей, а сам Комендант, вышедший на шум, приказывает ему повернуть назад, напомнив о присяге — перед смертью передать саблю внуку, в честь священной традиции польских легионеров. Но вот беда — внуков у Якубека нет, потому что его единственный сын, ботаник, интересуется не женщинами, а только учёбой и выведением гигантских сливогруш, в надежде побить рекорды Мичурина и Лысенко и высадить морозостойкие саженцы на Северном полюсе. Поэтому четыре кавалериста берут на себя задачу женить ничего не подозревающего Янечка, даже против его воли.
