Заброшенный родителями Людовик встречает и влюбляется в Софи, дочь учительницы игры на фортепиано. Молодые люди тянутся друг к другу, бурное развитие их отношений приводит к неизбежному эксперименту, но их ловят с поличным. Влюбленные прячутся в заброшенных зданиях на берегу моря, однако их находят и разъединяют. Отец Софи делает все для того, чтобы они не встретились больше никогда. Проблема отцов и детей, совсем не детская любовь двенадцатилетних героев, безразличие внешнего мира, хрупкость отношений, попытки суицида и счастье прикосновений — всё это через призму восприятия славного мальчишки. Не случайно фильм называется «Мир Людовика».
