In a scorching Rome, flooded with waste and electric scooters, Al is a serial dreamer who feels destined for success. When he helplessly witnesses the disintegration of his dream to make it big with his rock band, fate points him toward a second path: a phone containing evidence of a crime. With a knowledge of noir stories at his disposal, Al becomes convinced that he can solve the case. As he begins the investigation, he encounters Betty, a young adventure-seeking outsider, through a dating app. Both searching for a place in the world, they delve into a mystery that soon proves to be beyond their grasp.

It is evening. Tarek is seventeen years old and is on his way to see his friends, who have asked him on the telephone to pass by the park first and buy a few grams of dope: nothing much, just enough for some fun. The boy buys the stuff in the dark park, but when he emerges finds that someone has seen him: a policeman in plain clothes, sitting in his own car. The man could simply confiscate the hash, intimidate him a little and then let him go, or he could decide to take him to the station and call his parents. But he opts for neither of these things. He tells the young man to get in the car and starts the engine. Where does he want to take him? The policeman is ambiguous, mysterious. What does he want from the teenager? Tarek is in check, he can’t just leave. The policeman makes him stay with him the whole night, driving around in apparently aimless fashion, stopping first in one place, then in another.

A gangster offers Pazzo and Bella the possibility of getting a huge sum of money to kill a man. Pazzo is on a wheelchair, Bella is an alcoholic and gambling addicted. They have never done anything like this in their lives. But Bella is a dangerous woman and wants to change her life no matter the cost. Pazzo doesn't need anything but Bella in his life. He loves her. And that is a problem.

Marla and Simone are madly in love and have a very passionate relationship. They are also struggling to get by and are unable to pay the rent. In desperation they decide to make porn videos. Sex cowboys is a travel inside our generation, the lost generation, destined to live without a permanent employment, a fixed home and a defined lifestyle. The characters of this travel are nomadic, precarious e immature in the comedy of their life: to Simone's anger and to Marla's magic need, alternates passion and sex. The generational crisis is inside us, and we have to find a way to survive and make the present our dream, since in our future we won't have space.

Two very different men have something in common: the work. When their companies are bought by a bigger one, who will take the only place of boss of the new company?

In Greek mythology Ananke is the goddess that represents the personification or power of fate. In an imaginary present, humanity faces extinction because of a terrible pandemic. The only way to escape death is to avoid all contact with human beings, to flee, to be completely alone. After long wandering a man and a woman find shelter in an isolated house in the mountains. They hope to save themselves by adapting to an essential, almost primitive life. Nature watches over them, observing them from above.
