Marianne is unhappily married with the rich Arvid Croneman. Arvid has been ill for some time and Marianne has been looking forward to his passing away. However, Arvid recovers. Marianne has had an affair with Lennart Hägg, her husband's doctor. She steals poison from his office and makes sure that her husband gets a poisonous injection that swiftly kills him. After his burial, Arvid's relatives, who lives in the house, treats her with suspicion. Has she really gotten rid of all the evidence?

Christer is a teenager who prefers to spend his time on motorcycles instead of his studies which doesn't impress his father. There is also a youth motorcycle gang terrorising the local girls but Christer doesn't dare to stand up to them, leading to his humiliation. One day he comes into contact with a professional speedway racer who takes him under his wing.

The film follows a number of people in an apartment building during a night full of dramatic events and entanglements.

Gunnar Solberg is subjected to a robbery attempt at the cafe he owns. However, he stops the robbery and gets the robber to be honorable again.

Ingrid Eriksson, a social worker, decides to find out something about the problems facing housemaids and gets herself a job as one at the home of John Willman's family. John's son, Åke, falls in love with her and numerous complications arise before the course of true love runs smoothly.
