Фильм о жизни и деятельности Эдварда Герека, знаковой фигуры XX века, Первого секретаря ЦК ПОРП в 1970—1980 годах.О человеке с прорывной историей Польши на заднем плане. Эдуард Герек – одна из важнейших фигур ХХ века в коллективной памяти поляков. Несмотря на то, что он стоит в одном ряду с такими знаменитостями, как Иоанн Павел II, Юзеф Пилсудский или Лех Валенса, киноиндустрия еще не заметила его. Продюсеры Януш Ивановски и Иоланта Овчарчик решили восполнить этот пробел. Действие фильма происходит в 1970-1982 годах, когда Эдуард Герек становится первым секретарем ЦК ПОРП (ЦК Польской объединенной рабочей партии) до своего интернирования. Это будет не политический фильм. Зрители увидят Эдварда Герека за кулисами его политической власти. Неотъемлемая часть этой истории – семейные отношения, которые так и не увидели свет.
