Yusuf served nine years in prison for a crime he did not commit. When he returns home, he sees that his wife, who was pregnant at the time of jail, left home. While searching for his wife and child in the snowy town, he also tracks the events that happened to him. This journey, which alternates between the past and the present and becomes complicated as we ask questions, will reach places that Yusuf could not even imagine, and will change his life irrevocably.

Having just entered puberty, bride (Dilan Aksüt) had been forced to marry with groom (Ilyas Salman) whom returned to his hometown after doing many years of jail time and more than fifty years older than her. At first she was afraid, she cries, even resists, having equipped with patchy and second hand sayings, she did not know what is going to happen to her. Sitting in the nuptial chamber with horror, she will start to face with realities after grandfather-aged groom steps into the room.

Возле города Карса, который находится на востоке Турции с обратной стороны горы Арарат, находится небольшое село. В этом селе живет единственный оставшийся русский из сектантов-молокан Мишка. Этот старик остался один, потому что все его сектанты молокане уехали в Ставрополье еще в шестидесятые годы. Последние годы ему приходится претерпевать финансовые проблемы, поскольку чудеса прогресса вытеснили надобность его мельницы, а соответственно лишили его основного средства к существованию. Мишка сильно скучает по своим сектантам. Чтобы скрасить свое одиночество, он по вечерам играет на пианино. В селе живет и старая одинокая женщина по имени Попуч. Она питает огромную ненависть к Мишке, и желает все время от него избавиться. Окружающие хоть и держат нейтралитет между их отношениями, не могут понять, почему между ними такая вражда. Позже, выясняется, что они давно знакомы друг с другом. Потом начинают открываться старые секреты об их обоюдном отношении.

His father Saho is the leader of the Givdanli tribe who stays distant both to the state and to the insurgents who are influent in the region, in order to secure its existence. One day, Sivan meets with the girl he loves, Berfin in a field around the village. The same day the field is burnt by saboteurs and the whole harvest of the village is wasted. The investigation initiated after the incident, changes Sivan's life drastically. Taken in for an interrogation, Sivan is caught between the police and the insurgents. Thinking his son's life is in peril, Saho assures Sivan's fleeing out of the country. Taken to Germany by the help of a illegal network, Sivan is located in a refugee camp. However, in this new land whose language is alien to him, Sivan will go through an ordeal which will add a new dimension to the residue of his experiences in Turkey.
