Shengwei Zhou, born in 1991, digital artist/cross-border director, graduated from Peking University, currently study Expanded Animation at the School of Cinematic Arts, University of Southern California. His representative feature animation SHe won the Best Animated Feature Film Nomination at the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival, known as the A category film festival defined by FIAPF. His feature film Art is Dead won the Spirit of Freedom Award at 14th FIRST International Film Festival. He is currently working on an ongoing animation and VR/XR series called Perfect City. His art work SHe, Art is Dead, Let’s Fall In Love, and Perfect City series has been selected to over 100 festivals including Oscar, BAFTA, Canadian Screen Award qualified film festivals and exhibitions all over the world and has been reported by Hollywood Variety magazine.

The film combines animation and mockumentary to get a glimpse of the boring but romantic daily life of a middle-aged man living alone from the perspective of a monitor. I put my emotional feelings and thoughts into this short film as a response of the pandemic. I want to illustrate the individual’s desire for love in this isolate environment.

Four men in a parallel universe encounter one another and then separate. He Sen and Lin Feng hooked up and were sleeping in bed together when they had the same dream. For He Sen it was a sweet dream, but for Lin Feng it was a sad dream about parting ways.
