Бунюэль возвращается на родину, где встречается со своим давним приятелем, скульптором-анархистом Рамоном Асином. Надеясь помочь другу, Асин покупает лотерейный билет и… выигрывает крупную сумму денег. Бунюэль приступает к съемкам. Однако его методы работы шокируют немногочисленных единомышленников — членов съемочной группы…
