Всю ситуацию контролирует бабушка, эксцентричная дама с острым язычком, от которой не укроется ни одна тайна. Ни один из поклонников не вызывает интереса Сабины. Но в один прекрасный день появляется обаятельный, умный и дьявольски симпатичный Бронислав. Его появление вызывает серию неожиданных событий, которые проявят другую сторону женской натуры…

Молодой горец Юрай Яношик, солдат повстанческой армии Ракоци, во время одной из стычек попадает в плен и оказывается в императорской армии. Свою службу он начинает в крепости, в которой заключен известный предводитель разбойников Томаш Угорчик. Яношик помогает Томашу бежать, а тот в благодарность дает отцу Яношика деньги, чтобы выкупить сына из армии. Вернувшийся домой Яношик получает предложение заняться ремеслом разбойника.

Gierłatowski assumes the role of a modern Stańczyk, a legendary thinker-jester, prophesying on the historical Polish Republic in his dramatic conviction that History annihilated the intellectual elite of his nation and the future will bring awe and destruction.
