Province of São Paulo, 1870. An enslaved man flees through a dense forest in search of a supposed quilombo. On his heels are two "capitães-do-mato" with orders to capture him at all costs. But the forest, in its depths, harbors mysteries and ghosts capable of surrounding them in a trap.

In 1992, during a meeting held at the family estate in the interior of Minas Gerais, all young heirs of the Baumann family mysteriously disappeared. The event is revisited by filming and old photographs, hoping to reconstitute his last days and solve the case.

I recorded four years of the life of a great friend of mine in the attempt to catch some sort of catharsis. As I tried to deal with endings that were taking place in my life, the inevitable happened to him. His mother passed away without leaving any record on video. This is a movie to refrain from the fear of forgetting.
