Послевоенные годы Советской Эстонии. Новым порядкам на фоне трудного утверждения новой жизни противостоят «Лесные фиалки». Так называет себя банда Сандлера. Бандитов связывает чужая пролитая кровь. Кто-то вступил на преступный путь из страха, кто-то сознательно, а кто-то случайно, как Тыну, который и попал под психологический прессинг капитана НКВД Рейна Тамме. Тыну не выдержал - выдал всех «братьев», а затем покончил с собой.

A middle-aged literature teacher who devotes his free time to poetry is used to being the center of admiration for his family, especially his wife. One day, however, a grandchild arrives at the house, who immediately grabs the full attention of all those around him. The fresh grandfather turns out to be excluded and decides to leave the house, confident that it will restore him to his former position. This is followed by a day full of surprising encounters.

Казнили барона во имя справедливости и во славу прав вольного города Таллина. Метис, которого замучил барон Юкскюль, не знатный горожанин, а простой оружейник, так что для членов таллинского магистрата речь идёт не столько о человеке, сколько о принципе.
