Между тем, окопавшееся в Лондоне эмигрантское чешское правительство, опасаясь того, что танковая бригада может стать основой подлинно народной армии, отдаёт приказ о роспуске бригады. Осуществляя этот приказ, начальник штаба бригады капитан Ренч ведёт внутри бригады подрывную деятельность. Коммунисту-политруку Томешу вместе с другими патриотами удаётся сорвать антинародные замыслы врага. Политрук убеждает командира Сташека обратиться за помощью к Советскому Главному Командованию. И вот советские танки торжественно передаются чехословацкой бригаде. На плечах отступающего врага чешские патриоты врываются в Остраву.
