The three thieves Kasper, Jesper and Jonathan lives together with their always hungry lion in the little town of Kardemomme town, the home to a fair but kind police officer, and the strict Aunt Sofie.

Веселый и любопытный Солан и его друг — пессимист и меланхолик Людвиг — живут в маленькой деревушке вместе с изобретателем Реодором Фельгеном. Спокойную жизнь героев омрачает лишь одно — в канун Рождества в деревне до сих пор не выпал снег. Реодор, желая порадовать друзей, создает самую мощную в мире снежную пушку. Но, к сожалению, есть человек, который хочет использовать машину в корыстных целях — это редактор местной газеты Фриман. Чтобы повысить продажи своего издания, Фриман обещает читателям рекордное количество снега — и, конечно, для этого ему понадобится изобретение Реодора. Редактор своими действиями вызывает настоящую снежную бурю, и тогда Солана и Людвиг решают бросить ему вызов, чтобы остановить разбушевавшуюся стихию и вернуть Рождество.
