While the Second Nagorno-Karabakh war rages on far away from Baku, Azerbaijan, Banu has four days to find someone to support her in court against her influential soon to be ex-husband, Javid. He is trying to get full custody of their son Ruslan by claiming that Banu suffers from psychiatric issues. Banu embarks on a journey to find someone to help her in a society in which everyone’s attention is preoccupied with the ongoing war.

Ursus is a story of three outcasts—Georgian unemployed film director, Ukrainian ex-stuntman and a Canadian female fighter for the wild animals' rights—making their desperate journey from Tbilisi, the capital of ex-Soviet Georgia plunged into a civil war, to Berlin at the beginning of 1992. Each of the three characters pursues their own goal without even knowing how much their fates are intertwined.

A modern Azerbaijani woman’s life is non stop all day as she juggles traditional and secular roles, her life subsumed by service for others while rarely getting the respect she deserves. Throughout the film we see how things are changing in progressive Azerbaijan, and how some things don’t change; like her, it is a country at a crossroads of seeming contradictions. This is the story of "a" woman, elements of whom are universal.

Стремительно приближается запланированный отцом день свадьбы Лалы. Эмилю необходимо срочно действовать. И вот, подворачивается удачный случай: отец Лалы уезжает из города на пару дней в связи с подготовкой к торжеству. Эмиль решается попросить Заура о помощи в похищении его сестры. Перед Зауром дилемма: отец, традиции, авторитет в обществе или же порыв помочь другу и нежелание своей сестре той же участи, что и у него.

Действие фильма разворачивается во время короткого, но яркого периода первой демократической революции на Востоке, в Азербайджане, в 1919 году. Жизнь разметала друзей: Теймур стал депутатом азербайджанского независимого парламента, Рустам служит в Красной армии, а всеми любимый Сан Саныч осуществил наконец свою мечту и, поселившись в маленьком доме на берегу теплого Каспийского моря, открыл школу восточных единоборств. Друзей разделяют километры, границы и идеологии. Но неожиданно у Теймура похищают дочь Ширин. И вновь, как и тридцать лет назад, три «рыцаря без страха и упрека» воссоединяются, помогая освободить девушку и дать возможность двум влюбленным людям, Фархаду и Ширин, детям непримиримых врагов, обрести свое счастье.
