To support a friend, five hockey players and a goalkeeper go to the museum to explain to the art critic that he did wrong and the woman must be returned. How could the athletes know that the museum is not just a place where statues stand and pictures are hung on the walls. That in giant vaults-storerooms, ancient as the world creatures, which our ancestors described in myths and legends, rest in frozen form. And they are supervised in the image of quiet museum workers by the same immortal humanoid entities…

Казалось бы, жизнь хорошенькой разведенной москвички Ксении оставляет не много места для драматических ситуаций: да, сын Тема тяжело переживает развод родителей, да, поклонник поглощен карьерой, да, мама вмешивается в личную жизнь, — но трудно назвать эти обстоятельства критическими. Все меняется, когда бывший муж, офицер миротворческих сил, просит Ксению прислать Тему к нему, подышать горным воздухом в прекрасной деревушке в доме его родителей! Он уверяет, что это совершенно безопасно — да маленький Тема и не чувствует никакого страха, ведь рядом папа, добрый и непобедимый герой. Но наступает день, когда вражеские танки входят в город — и мир самых страшных игровых иллюзий мальчика становится реальностью. На экране оживают компьютерные драконы и злые космические демоны, втягивая живых людей в огненную вакханалию войны. Ксения обязана выжить в военном аду, пройти через адскую мясорубку прошитого пулями города, чтобы спасти того, кого любит. У нее нет другой цели — и нет другого пути.
