Чао-у Фу — китайский кинорежиссёр. Чао-у Фу родился в городе Чанъи (провинция Шаньдун). В 1939 году он поступил на драматическое отделение художественной школы Luxun в уезде Ишуй и в том же году вступил в Коммунистическую партию Китая. С 1940 года, после окончания учебы, он служил актером военно-художественной труппы, командиром отряда пропагандистской группы, преподавателем кафедры искусства и литературы Восточно-Китайского университета и руководителем художественного отдела. С 1942 года был постановщиком театральных спектаклей. В 1947 году написал пьесу «Кровь народа», которую сам же и поставил в 1949 году. С 1951 года руководил студией дубляжа иностранных фильмов при Шанхайской киностудии, был автором переводов на китайский язык фильмов «Анна Каренина», «Тарас Шевченко», «Чук и Гек» и др. В 1955 году поступил в Пекинскую киноакадемию, чтобы учиться режиссуре художественных фильмов. После окончания академии вернулся в Шанхай и стал режиссёром киностудии Тяньма и Шанхайской киностудии. Чао-у Фу умер в 1992 году в возрасте 70-ти лет.

In 1936, the Long March of the Red Army passed through the Tibetan area by the Jinsha River. The Kuomintang colluded with the great local tyrant Qiu Wanli in an attempt to prevent the Red Army from crossing the river north. Qiu Wanli asks his minions to pretend to be the Red Army and rob the chieftain Sangge's only daughter Zhuma to provoke the relationship between the chieftain and the Red Army. The Red Army adhered to the party's ethnic policy, rescued Zhuma, and crossed the Jinsha River to the border of Tibetan areas. Qiu again sneaked into the Tibetan area. He said that Zhuma had been killed by the Red Army and provided ammunition and weapons for the chieftain to fight the Red Army. In order to expose the enemy's rumors, the Red Army instructor Jin Ming took a squad to escort Zhuma home.
