It marks the first time Strikeforce has held an event in Colorado and the main event featured a rematch between Duane Ludwig and Sammy Morgan.
UFC 78: Validation was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), that took place on November 17, 2007 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Validation was the first UFC event held in New Jersey since June 4, 2005's UFC 53: Heavy Hitters in Atlantic City.
The main event was a rematch from a UFC 58 fight in which Fisher was a late replacement for Stouts opponent, and he had to cut a lot of water weight just to fight. Stout won their first fight by split decision.
