One day, hospital orderlies, watching corpse in the morgue, recognize film director. Man, even though he died, he begins to remember his life. He made a career making movies, had numerous mistresses, but never realized their dreams. His life was interspersed with many setbacks that enfeebled him from the inside. Although he made a career in film, he was not happy with his life.

Twenty years old prostitute and drug addict, Jola, by chance meets Andrzej, a "railway station gay". They try to stay together, in spite of numerous diffculties. They both are carriers of the HIV virus. At the end of their travels they find themselves in the Red Palace - formerly the recreation centre for Party dignitaries, now a home for AIDS sufferers - which is run by father Jan. In the nearby small town aggression begins to grow again the unwanted guests; the house have been promised to the local people for housing purposes... The lives and fates of Jola, Andrzej, and father Jan become increasingly intertwined with one another...

Второй фильм трилогии «Три цвета» напоминает анекдот в пушкинско — гоголевской традиции. Притча о необходимости равенства между людьми во всем мире приобретает в этом фильме черты трагикомедии, саркастической истории о человеке, который теряется в цивилизованном мире — зато прекрасно чувствует себя в постсоциалистическом обществе. Лишь в финале этот сатирический набросок нравов превращается в щемящий рассказ о жажде любви…
