Bernard Merrymel Joseph (born December 12 , 1999) is an Malayalam film director, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer and actor. In the early he was an independent filmmaker whose films used nonlinear storylines and aestheticization of violence. His films have earned him a variety of Awards . Born in Pathanamthitta , Kerala Bernard was interested in filmmaking at an early age. He directed numerous music videos and short films. He made his film debut with The Last Chapter (2017), which garnered mixed reviews, followed by the Triangle (2019) . Bernard found lukewarm success with EMO (2021) and Sumathy Valav (2022), but the latter eventually became a cult classic which was better received.
