Thomas Palm (Åke Söderblom) has recently been promoted at work at The Royal Canal Office. He celebrates with his friends on a night out and on the way home he saves a woman from drowning. The woman's name is Dolly (Marguerite Viby), an out of work actress, who won't leave his side and this gets him into trouble when he is about to get married in a couple of days.

The manager of the theater, Gravander, gives her the leading part in his latest show, in order to befriend Brenner. "The Russian Cold" - Kalle Brodin, the leader of the Swedish communists, just released from a short prison term, don't know what to do with the directives that comes from Moscow.

Mr. Miller is the CEO of a big soap company whose son Henry like to spend his father's money but isn't interesting in working. Henry's laziness makes Mr. Miller upset and stressed out, so he assigns his young secretary (who the son also is in love with) to figure out a way to make Henry work and she will get 10,000 crowns ($1000). But things doesn't really to turn out the way Mr. Miller imagined.

A bachelor in Stockholm must invent a family to be able to get financial support from his aunt Anna. Everything is going well until she arrives on an unexpected visit.

Lola Brio has a large number of professions. She is partly a revue primadonna and gramophone singer, but the nameplate on her door also reads "Lessons in French and Grace", which of the film's act to judge apparently means that she is partly a luxury prostitute and partly takes care of country girls to give them some posture of polish.
