A group of 6 friends plans to travel to Srilanka. The hurdles and issues faced by the gang during their journey and the secretive reason behind it forms the crux.

Deepika (Bhavana) is an arrogant rich girl. A medical college student, she dictates terms at the college. Sister of local don Kasi (Prakash Raj), she is feared by students, professors and even the Dean of the College. Enter Aarya (Madhavan), a final year student who comes to Chennai Medical College from Coimbatore. A soft-spoken Aarya runs into Deepika. They develop cold shoulders. In a fit of rage, she kidnaps Aarya's sister. But Aarya faces her challenges daringly. However, she soon falls in love with him. But he is not ready to marry the sister of a ruffian. The remaining story tells us how the brother and sister put pressure on Aarya to become a rowdy so that Aarya's status is equal enough as Kasi's status so that Aarya can marry Kasi's sister Deepika. Meanwhile, "Snake" Babu (Vadivelu) is elected the area councillor, and has a few encounters with Dr. Aarya, and one with Deepika. He is the main source of comic relief for the film.

The story revolves around Puli , who is a local rowdy and the son of a math teacher Prakash Raj. Prakash Raj hates his son for being a rowdy and for not being proficient in Mathematics. As part of a flashback it is shown that young Puli was very good in Physics but being a math teacher his father wanted him to excel in Math which he was unable to do so. As a result of repeated physical and mental abuse the young boy takes up the wrong route to grow up. In the mean time, rival gangs and police try to kill Puli but is accidentally saved by his step sibling, a daughter from an affair that Prakash Raj had. Puli helps his step sister in return for her unexpected help and vouches for her safety. The rival gangs kill Pulis step sister and put the blame on his father. How Puli brings the truth to limelight and unites with his family completes the rest of the movie.

Naan Avanillai (English: I'm not him) (2007) is a Tamil film directed by Selva. It is a remake of K. Balachander's classic of the same title, starring matinee idol Gemini Ganesan, which was a remake of 1962 Marathi language film To Mee Navhech (English: I Am Not Him), written by Pralhad K. Atre and acted by Prabhakar Panashikar. The thriller movie has Jeevan in the lead role and Sneha, Namitha, Malavika, Jyorthirmayi and Keerti Chawla as his five heroines. This movie created great expectations in the industry, because it was a hit when it was originally made in 1974. Shooting began in December 2006 and it was released in April 2007. The film became a success upon release.

Set in the late 18th century during the early stages of the British Raj, the film tells the story of twin brothers separated at birth. Pulikesi XXIII, the foolish elder brother, becomes a puppet of his uncle, the Chief Minister, while Ukraputhan, the wise younger brother, becomes a patriot intent on saving his land and his brother.

The story starts in a jail, where prisoner Muthupandi (Prabhu) is being interrogated by a police officer (Vijayakumar) about his past. Without hesitation, Muthupandi tells. Muthupandi is a son of the soil, a very hard working self-made man who dotes on his only sister Kavitha (Trisha Krishnan). Their mother died very early and it was Muthupandi who brought up Kavitha with a lot of love and affection. Kavitha’s best friend Lalitha (Richa Pallod), who is getting married, takes Kavitha to her house for the nuptial ceremony. As an emotional scene prior to this notes, this is the first time Kavitha has been away from her brother.

Sathya is a Casanova by character and he sets his sights on Haritha and manages to woo her. She loves him whole heartedly and he is not in favor of that. At one moment he falls for Haritha, but at the same time, she comes to know about his real character, and she ends their relationship. The story is about how Sathya changes himself and earns her love back.

When a lorry driver realises that he is helping an escaped convict, he threatens to hand him over to the police. The convict begins to narrate the circumstances that landed him in jail.

Ankitha ( Gayu ) and Yuva Krishna fall in love with each other in college. But when Yuva tells his friends about being close to Gayu and describes her, she gets angry and they split apart. After finishing college, Gayu's family stays in a house opposite to that of Yuva. Their families get to know about their earlier love and try to rejoin them . The rest of the story is how Gayu gets convinced.

A vegetable vendor takes care of an elderly woman and her two young daughters, but he has a dark past that wants to catch up with him.

Ottran (Tamil: ஒற்றன், English: A Spy) is a 2003 Tamil film starring Arjun Sarja, Simran, Manorama, Vadivelu, Tejashree, Sarath Babu and directed by Ilankannan. The score and soundtrack was composed by Pravin Mani.
