In the run-up, everything actually spoke against the Chinese capital as the host of the XXIV Olympic Winter Games: Beijing is neither a winter sports region nor are human rights respected in China. The IOC obviously didn't care. Topics such as sustainability, freedom of expression and climate protection were also pushed aside. It's about power and profit instead of the Olympic idea and its values. But more and more athletes are speaking up and calling for a reform of the Olympic Games. A pioneer in this matter is ARD Olympic expert Felix Neureuther, a former alpine skier, who sucked up the Olympic spirit with his mother's milk, because his parents are alpine ski legend Rosi Mittermaier, double gold medalist at the 1976 Winter Games in Innsbruck, and father Christian, a ski racer, who took part three times at the Olympics. Based on interviews with athletes, experts, IOC officials and persecuted Uyghurs, Felix gets a glimpse behind the scenes of the Olympic system.

This is another variation of the Cinderella story: the bright and beautiful Ella lives in the household of a lord since her mother died. She's unhappy because the lord's daughters treat her like their servant. The country is in problems, because the prince is a dreamer and doesn't realize that his chancellor abuses his power. When the day nears the prince is forced by law to find a wife, a celebration on a frozen lake is arranged. Ella manages to skate on the lake for him too, hiding her identity. The prince falls in love with her, so he tries to find her. His chancellor attempts to hinder them, since he knows about Ella's critical thoughts.

Former Olympic skating champion Katerina Witt stars as Ella in this charming interpretation of the Cinderella story. Ella's shrewish stepmother and stepsisters make her life miserable by turning her into a servant in her own home. When the local prince (Christopher Barker) throws an ice-skating festival, Ella attends and captures his heart. But true love is hard to hold on to as the prince's corrupt chancellor works to keep the two apart.

Ice skating greats perform to some of Disney's most memorable music -- from "Mary Poppins," "Snow White," "Cinderella," "Peter Pan," "The Lion King," "Lady and the Tramp," "Aladdin" and "Fantasia."
