Капитан отдаёт приказ немедленно высадить детей и женщин в шлюпку, столкнуть в воду загоревшийся грузовик, бензоцистерны, «Волгу», «Москвич» — всё, что может увеличить опасность и силу взрыва. По-разному проявляют себя в этой критической ситуации люди, оказавшиеся на пароме…
