Sven Methling was born on September 20, 1918 in Denmark as Sven Johan Methling. He was a director and writer, known for Fem mand og Rosa (1964), Krummerne (1991) and Passer passer piger (1965). He died on August 7, 2005 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Startede i filmbranchen som assistent på Palladium omkring 1940, kom siden til ASA og Gutenberghus og debuterede som spillefilminstruktør på Saga i 1952. Har instrueret mere end 40 spillefilm, hvoraf hovedparten er folkekomedier i 50'erne og 60'erne, bl.a. de fem Soldaterkammerater-film. I 70'erne og 80'erne blev det småt med opgaver for instruktøren Sven Methling, men i en alder af 73 år fik han i 1991 et stort comeback hos producent Regner Grasten med Krumme-serien (bestående af tre spillefilm og en julekalender).
Sven Methling har modtaget Bodilpriser for besættelsesdramaet "Der kom en dag" (1955) og den satiriske komedie "Vi er allesammen tossede" (1960).

Ebbe Langberg er journalisten Claudius, der mister sit job, og er forelsket i Dorte. Hendes far nægter at give sit samtykke, før Claudius igen har fundet et passende job med en god løn. Og så sker der en masse! I forrygende tempo og med afsindige forhindringer - hvor bl.a. den dansk-amerikanske Miss Thomson - med afrikanske masker og tomatcocktails som speciale - spiller en afgørende rolle. Selvfølgelig vender alt sig til det bedste - og Claudius får sin Dorte.

After a gruesome meeting with the tax authorities Alex Alexander takes a drive in the countryside to calm down. While driving, he accidentally runs into an elephant from a circus. When he is stopped by the police and tells them about the elephant they think he is crazy. He is committed to an asylum by the very authorities his taxes are funding. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Grundtvig High School in 1944, this tribute was made to a cultural-historical achievement. In a quietly progressive, classic film language with often staged reconstructions, the spiritual preconditions of the colleges, the efforts of the time, and the life that unfolded are told about the peasants and girls meeting the paternal, fundamentalist spirit. There are recordings from eg. Vallekilde Højskole and Frederiksborg Højskole, but very many high schools across the country are introduced in short clips.
