Bjarne Reuter (born 29 April 1950) is a Danish writer and screenwriter, best known for children's and young adult books. Many of his works are set in the 1950s and 1960s, the time period of his childhood and adolescence. Many also feature the Copenhagen area, where he was born in Brønshøj. Reuter is the screenwriter of the popular Danish television series and movie Busters verden ("Buster's World"). In 1977 he was awarded with the Danish Ministry of Culture's children book prize. He won the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis for best children's book in 2000, recognising the German-language edition of En som Hodder (1998), and was a finalist for the youth book prize in 2003, for the work published in English as The Ring of the Slave Prince (2004).
For his lasting contribution as a children's writer, Reuter was a finalist for the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Award in both 2002 and 2004.

7-year-old Anna is having trouble sleeping at night. She accidentally left her favourite doll, Sophie, at her family's holiday home, and Anna's parents won't drive all the way to the house to retrieve the doll. Just as Anna is wondering if Sophie feels lonely, she suddenly hears a strange sound. Anna is visited by a small yellow aeroplane named Zanzibar along with its crew: Captain Bimse and the co-pilot Goggeletten. With her trusted teddy bear Mr. Johnson in tow, Anna embarks on a magical rescue mission with Captain Bimse and Goggeletten to save Sophie.

Bertram’s uncle, a petty criminal, hurls him and the whole family into the kidnapping of a rich man’s son to get money for a new flat after they’ve been kicked out by the bailiff. But things don’t go quite as planned. The film is an action-packed gangster comedy for the whole family, a kind of “Ocean’s Eleven” for children and the young at heart.

Farcial action fun with Bertil and Hugo, who do menial jobs at a big city hotel. Bertil is about to marry and has put money aside for his bride's morning gift. Only Hugo has kind of borrowed the money and blown it all on a wrong bet in a pigeon race. Together, they obviously have to get rich quick. When a diamond seems to be lying around for the taking, the hotel is virtually on its head.

In this suspenseful chase movie, a couple try to outrun both the police and the gangsters who are after them for a murder they did not commit. Suzanne dreads yet another dull weekend in the country with her rich parents but is unprepared for what lies just ahead. Leonard, an escaped convict, is in desperate need of food and a car, and Suzanne happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time -- she ends up providing him with both and is taken with him as he makes his motorized getaway.

In 1984 Reuter published his collection Tre skuespil ("Three Plays"); a collection containing also En dag i Hector Hansens liv ("A Day in the Life of Hector Hansen") and Kom der lys i neonrøret, gutter? ("Was There Light in the Neon Tube, Boys?") – in addition to Busters Verden.

Denmark, 1961. Bjørn, a middle-class boy in his early teens, wants to be accepted by Steen, a bullying peer of his with wealthy but freezingly cold parents. Bjørn's other good friend is Mulle, a cheerful and more childish working-class boy. All three seem friends at first, but gradually Steen starts pushing Mulle away while pulling the impressionable Bjørn with him towards more and more violence.
