Fyrtårnet og Bivognen (aka Pat und Patachon) enter movies - in more ways than one. This was the first one pairing Carl Schenstrøm & Harald Madsen for what became a popular and long-lasting comic duo.

The Madsens and the Sørensens are eagerly awaiting a visit from their rich uncle Bims from America. As the ship docks, the two couples stand ready like drooling dogs about to chow down. However, the four are in for a sore disappointment: the gifts brought along by their uncle turn out to be very modest in scope. Enraged, the Sørensens destroy their gifts and mock the uncle by throwing cream puffs at his portrait in their living room. Mr Madsen wastes no time in getting rid of the cheap pearl necklace his wife has received. But the necklace keeps coming back in mysterious ways – which proves very fortuitous for them. Even though the Gommesens have been married for 25 years, they are still in love. They wake up happy on their silver wedding anniversary, but the peaceful atmosphere does not last. Mr Basse – a cheerful, if somewhat lazy fellow – reluctantly shows up at the employment agency. It soon transpires that he is no good at selling newspapers. It’s the day of the barber’s baby’s christening, and the guests start arriving with their flowers and gifts, dropping them off while the barber is still trying to see to his last customer. As it’s taking a while, the wet-nurse is asked to take the baby on a short walk before the ceremony begins. She comes across a handsome young soldier, who she strikes up a conversation with. When an even more handsome man passes by, she hands the baby to the soldier. He has to return to the barracks, so he finds someone to leave the baby with. As time passes, the party start to wonder where the baby is. Fortunately, the baby has been handed in at the police station, where the parents reunite with their child. (stumfilm.dk)
