Perturbed, Conan sneaks onto the police ship led by Kuroda, which is bringing them to the island to protect the completion work, and tours the new facility, just in time for the Black Organization to kidnap a female engineer, seeking a piece of important data in her USB drive. A terrifying howl of screws is heard from the ocean as an unknown person approaches Haibara.

High school music teacher, Morimura Yuuki, is the concert master and first violinist of the amateur orchestra, Fujimi Orchestra. Surprisingly, a young conductor named Tonoin Kei (known as a musical genius) joins this small orchestra to conduct. Even though Tonoin is a strict conductor, all the members adore him for the notable improvements in their performances and soon Yuuki feels his efforts for the orchestra have been fruitless. Elected as a member of the first student body government, Midori and the rest of the officers decide to put together a gakuen-sai--a school festival. Midori likes Akira, who happened to help her out during the election speech (she fell on stage, with some more embarrassment). She's excited about working for the festival, especially since she gets to work with Akira. She tries to be a match-maker for Mamiya-san (Mami-ryn) and Sudoh-kun during the process too.

In this the first two parts of the series Ranmaru is the best fencer in his school. One day while he and his friend, Enjoji, are walking home from school, Yakuza from a rival syndicate try to run his friend over with their car. Ranmaru pushed his friend out of the way and gets hit instead. This event sparks the romance between Ranmaru and Enjoji. A few years later the relationship between them is still strong until Enjoji's half-brother, Kai, shows up and tries to take Ranmaru away from Enjoji. Then Masa, Kai's companion and mentor, shows up to see Kai.

Hyoi and Ryoi, two brothers with the power to take the form of cats, must unravel the mystery of a creeping, tenticled, demon plauge before it consumes them and their classmates. Ultimately, they must confront their old Dark Cat master Jukokubo, though whether they can put an end to the evil he has released remains a mystery.
