The Francs with their daughters Olina and Jirina are building a villa in the village of Rezkovice. Father Franc (Vladimír Mensík) doesn't allow himself a minute's respire and restlessly forces to work his wife, both daughters and Zdenek, Jirina's suitor. Zdenek does not protest against it and, in addition, he is skillful. On the contrary, Olina's boyfriend Libor is worse at work. He studies at the Technical College and he does not succeed much in grasping the building handicraft. Franc, proud of his pursuits, decides that he will arrange the wedding for both daughters and then hand them over the key of the villa in which both pairs have luxuriously furnished flats.

Good-looking Edita Beningerová (Jana Brejchová) arrives at a chemical factory in the North Bohemian town of Ústí nad Labem together with her young assistant Nada (Zlata Adamovská). She is hoping that her ex-husband, outstanding practical chemical engineer Vik Panc (Eduard Cupák), will help her conduct an experiment to validate her proposed theoretical method of isolating cholesterol from lanolin. The success of Edita's invention is crucial for her career at the Prague Institute of Chemistry. Vik's roommate from his hostel Bréta (Ivan Vyskocil) is thrilled. He will finally meet the mysterious and fascinating Edita about whom he has learned so much from Vik.

Soviet engineer Kuznecov is coming to Prague as an expert on work with the tunneling shield in construction of the metro. He is returning after more than thirty years. In May 1945 as a young soldier in the Red Army he was seriously injured in the liberation of Prague and while recovering experienced a great love with a young teacher called Vera.

Taxi driver Koukal (Miroslav Machácek) is stopped by the police for a routine traffic check. In the boot of his car the police find the body of a naked man. Koukal is arrested even though he claims he knows nothing about it. The case is assigned to Major Mlynár (Milan Sandhaus). The police identify the corpse as that of an Austrian citizen called Mitrik. Koukal has been regularly driving people interested in gambling to a secret gaming den. The police are put onto the gambling den by another taxi driver, who admits that he drove Mitrik there. Mlynár and officer cadet Pecka (Ivan Vyskocil) feign interest in gambling and visit the gaming den incognito.

School supply teacher timid folk art Ales Brabec won first prize at a music festival and will therefore offer to work for the Prague little theater in the basement. Its director Soukup just needs a few songs for the upcoming musical, and so is willing to do everything to Alex to create the right atmosphere for composing.

Gradually he's drawn into the lives of his patients—a childless couple, a pregnant girl with a stern mother, the son of a duck farmer—and each relationship reveals a bit more about him and the idyllic but insular community.

Ревнивая супруга устроила мужу скандал, соседский обман вскрылся, и разъярённый пан Барта́чек потребовал объяснений. Пан Нова́к не пожелал по-человечески извиниться перед соседями, и те разъярились ещё больше. И завертелось…

It is the summer of 1968 and also in South Moravian Pálavice appear political clashes. The so far peacefully farming Unified farmers' cooperative starts splitting. Some of the farmers have found the cooperative called Vidrupa and want to deal with wine in private trade. Michal Janák, chairman of the farmers' cooperative is a deliberate man and refuses the latent return to the capitalism. As an excellent farmer he continues preparing planting out new vineyards. His adversaries do not agree - the returns will come many years later. Jozka Hrdlicka, an émigré, notices on the Austrian TV the interview with the representatives of Vidrupa and decides to visit his native village. The new suit and the hired car transform the bankrupt and criminal to the successful businessman with wine.

Йиржи Валенту, застенчивого банковского клерка и единственного сына своих сверхопекающих родителей, призывают в армию. В казарме его награждают нелестным прозвищем "щвея" ("портниха", чешск. "švadlenka") за то, что он посвящал свой досуг сшиванию ковриков. Однажды его друг Лукаш знакомит его с привлекательной Юлкой Вавровой. Наивный Йиржи влюблялется в девушку и принимает её приглашение съездить на праздник к родне. Там он узнаёт, что Юлка - мать-одиночка, имеющая маленького сына Мартинека, отец которого - женатый мужчина Валеш. Юлка, напрасно ожидавшая, что Валеш разведётся со свой женой и женится на ней, убеждает Йиржи взять её замуж. Йиржи, который привязался к Мартинеку, соглашается и признаёт мальчика своим сыном, чтобы положить конец деревенским сплетням о Юлке. Но впоследствии Юлка бросает их обоих и сбегает к Валешу. Йиржи, характер которого в армии закалился, по окончании службы возвращается домой вместе с мальчиком.

Давно минули времена, когда на чешских реках было великое множество «водяных». Водичковы и Вассермановы представляют последние династии «водяных» в Чехии. Около спасательной станции у вышеградского тоннеля, где упал в Влтаву автобус с иностранными учёными, за проявленное мужество право быть первым получает водолаз Алоиз Водичка. Дом Водички к тому же был снесён при посредничестве Доктора Мрачека. Следовательно, решено доктора Мрачека утопить.

A British citizen by the name of George Reiner (Jirí Sovák) arrives at Prague airport. He was once a Czech safe-breaker, and has now returned home after thirty years to steal twenty-dollar gold coins still kept in the safe at a private villa in Pilsen whose owner fled to the West.

Папа, летучая мышь, ребенком не занимался, поскольку днем спал. Четырехрукий директор школы ругал ее за неуспеваемость. И просвета в этой жизни не было, пока однажды Саксанко не узнала, что может в виде совы перенестись в мир людей и пожить там полной жизнью 44 часа – все лучше, чем ничего.

1944 год. Оккупированная фашистами Богемия. На маленькой железнодорожной станции начинает работать молодой паренек Милош Хрма. Новичок пытается во всем равняться на диспетчера Губичку, у которого и на работе все в порядке и на сердечном фронте: редкая дама не попадает в объятия Губички. Милош же влюблен в кондуктора Машу. Но пока разгораются любовные страсти, Восточный фронт становится все ближе и ближе. Партизаны дают о себе знать все чаще и чаще, и немецкое командование отдает приказ взять под особое наблюдение все поезда, идущие в сторону фронта…

Tram driver Marie has far too much to do after her shift is over. But she likes to do it all since she loves her husband Václav sincerely. One day she spots him on the Lesser Town Square in Prague, kissing an attractive blonde good-bye. It seems to Marie that her small comfortable world has collapsed and she walks out of the tram in tears. But her sadness does not last long. She wipes off the tears and begins to act. She withdraws all the money from their savings books and buys off all the latest models from the Fashion Works. The visit to the beauty salon then completes her transformation into a lady.

Экранизация рассказа «Тьма не отбрасывает тени» классика чешской литературы и свидетеля холокоста Арношта Лустига — автобиографической истории о двух еврейских подростках, которые сбегают из нацистского поезда, везущего их в концлагерь. Скрываясь от фашистов, они несутся куда глаза глядят; скитаются по дикому лесу; затаив дыхание, прислушиваются к любому шуму. Не останавливаются. В моменты истощения и предельной усталости герои видят сны — обрывочные, сбивающие с толку и дающие надежду. Постепенно граница между реальным и воображаемым становится неразличимой — так же, как и грань между настоящим, прошлым и будущим.

Фильм рассказывает об эмоциональных проблемах семнадцатилетних юношей и девушек, приехавших убирать хмель. Герой влюбляется в одноклассницу, но окружающие не одобряют их отношений….

The story is about Harold, an isolated figure in an overwhelming world of totalitarian bureaucracy. Harold tries to find the elusive Joseph Kilian, an old acquaintance, in Prague. When Harold stumbles across a state-run cat-lending store, he impulsively rents a feline for the day. Later, he attempts to return the cat and finds that the store no longer exists. Now with a furry companion, Harold continues his search for Kilian. Written and directed by Pavel Juracek, this 40 minute film effectively aims its allegorical shots at personality cults and the absurdities of a totalitarian regime.
