Vaginal Davis is an American performing artist, painter, independent curator, composer, filmmaker and writer.
While visiting her Auntie Holly, Darling enters a parallel, dream-like world, where a series of encounters with transfeminine figures (played by Holly Woodlawn, Vaginal Davis, and Flawless Sabrina) explore the complexity of identity politics, gender construction and the edification of affects amid a kaleidoscopic depiction of time and place.

The Advocate for Fagdom unites the puzzle pieces one by one. Testimonies are combined with rare archive images. Art galeries present movie extracts that are succeeded by images shot on location. Writers, film makers, art galeries owners, actors and actresses, photographers, producers, friends and loved ones all join in a game of interpretation, analysis or simple anecdotes. John Waters, Bruce Benderson, Harmony Korine, Gus Van Sant, Richard Kern, Rick Castro and others deliver their impressions, theories and confessions. Everything blends into the fascinating portrait of a singular person blessed with singular talents. A complex personality at war not with a system but all systems. The portrait of a man constantly moving between his punk attitude and extreme sensibility.
A theatre project developed and directed by Bruce LaBruce. It was inspired by the life and theoretical writings of Melanie Klein, one of the psychoanalytic thinkers who interpreted Freud’s work after his death.

Beset with an en masse visit from her late husband's relatives, which include Mrs. Holly, George Holly as the mercenary son, Katherine Holly as Sebastian's set upon companion, Sister Felicity, the Nurse/Nun of who's performance Ronald Tavel states "another scene stealer using understatement" and Dr. Sugar brought in to "cut that HIDEOUS STORY out of her head" by Mrs. Venable. A psycho-sexual catharsis ensues when Katherine is given sodium pentothal and reveals what really happened SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER!
