One Man Metal (2012)

Chronicles the history, ideology and aesthetic of Norwegian black metal, a musical subculture infamous as much for a series of murders and church arsons as it is for its unique musical and visual aesthetics. This is the first film to truly shed light on a movement that has heretofore been shrouded by rumor and obscured by inaccurate and shallow depictions. Featuring exclusive interviews with the musicians themselves, Until the Light Takes Us explores every aspect of the controversial movement that has captured the attention of the world.

The infamous Gorgoroth gig in Krakow, Poland! Gorgoroth, Norwegian black metal band, drew the attention of the international media in early 2004 after their show in Krakow. They were accused of "offending religious feelings" during the gig, as well as suspected of breaching Polish law concerning the protection of animal rights by using severed and impaled heads of sheep as part of their stage design.

Mayhem is the most notorious group in the annals of black metal. Their nearly 25 years of band history are characterized not only by uncompromising and brutal music, but also by suicide, murder, arson, and many other scandals. Revered by their fans, Mayhem are feared and loathed by the mainstream public. 'Pure Fucking Mayhem' is a 90+ minute DVD documentary featuring exclusive interviews with current and former members of Mayhem. This documentary attains a maximum of authenticity with its rich, often unreleased footage.

The Black Trip album from Swiss heavy metal band Samael is a double DVD set which contains a concert held on Summer Breeze Festival (2002), a live concert held in Live in Studio TVP Łęg, Kraków, Poland, in 1996 during their "Passage" world tour and also a bootleg concert shot in Illinois (USA) during the "Ceremony of Opposites" tour. After the tragic death of Windir frontman and founder Valfar in January 2004, the rest of the band decided to bury Windir with Valfar. But after encouragement from Valfar's family, the remaining members decided to do one last Windir concert. The concert took place at Rockefeller auditorium in Oslo on September 3rd, 2004, which is the day that would have been Valfar's 26th birthday. Rockefeller was sold out, and over 1200 people took a final Farewell with Windir.

The 64-minute documentary eschews much of the tabloid sensationalism that shrouded the genre in the early to mid-'90s, focusing instead on the music itself, an element thus far overlooked by the mainstream media.
